Marie Shokkos

Marie Shokkos is an internationally renowned dancer, choreographer, and teacher, celebrated for her exceptional mastery of Egyptian dance as well as the traditional dances of the Gulf countries and Iraq.
With Cypriot and Ivorian heritage, Marie has been teaching for over 17 years and now shares her artistry and knowledge across France and around the world through workshops, performances, and international events.
She is also the creator and organiser of the artistic event Bell’intensive, bringing dancers together through training, creativity, and cultural exchange.
A passionate and versatile artist, Marie began her dance journey at the age of six with modern jazz before exploring contemporary dance, classical ballet, Afro dance, hip-hop, and Tahitian dance.
At the age of twelve, she discovered her deep love for Arabic culture, dance, and music — a passion that quickly became her signature artistic path. By the age of eighteen, she had already earned numerous competition titles and established herself as a recognised name on both the French and international dance scenes.
Today, Marie Shokkos is one of the most recognised and widely viewed dance artists in the Arab world, captivating audiences worldwide through her powerful performances and viral Iraqi and Egyptian dance videos, which have reached millions of viewers.
